LIST OF PRESENTERS!

We are so excited to announce some of the presenters to look forward to at this years Natural Health Fair! These presentations are 50 minute workshops that you can go to throughout the day. A schedule of the times for each workshop is listed to the right. If you see a workshop you are interested in, take a look at the listed time and be sure to stop by!

“The Great Lakes Sacred Essences Project”
Merri Walters

Slideshow and stories about the Great Lakes Sacred Essences projects and the Great Lakes Sacred Essences’ way of making flower essences. The teachings convey the brilliance and beauty of what has come from freely from the plants and places in the form of their flower essences and their stories. The teachings speak to spiritual guidance, respectful appreciation and prayerful intoning. The slideshow and stories are filled with adventures of guided travels as near as the home gardens and as far away as the Pacific, the Gulf of Mexico, Boundary Waters and Nova Scotia.

Merri Walters is known as a “healer’s healer” with clientele around the world. She brings to her endeavors over 30 years’ experience as an intuitive holistic practitioner working with natural medicines and mothering her eight children. Merri has cared for humans, animals and plants with thousands of remedies – including herbs, homeopathics, essential oils and flower essences. She is founder and guide in all steps as Great Lakes Sacred Essences makes, bottles and distributes flower essences, teaches about their use and serves as an advocate for all flower essence makers.

“Practical Benefits and Everyday Applications of Flower Essences”

This seminar focuses on using flower essences in practical, everyday ways. It provides real-life applications to take home and use with your family, in the classroom, office, work space and professional practice. The teachings about any particular subject are presented via story and require no prior knowledge or experience with the use of flower essences. The teachings help take the mystery out of using flower essences and help you open up to a world of possibilities for becoming grounded and bringing more emotional, mental and spiritual balance into your life.

“Tai-Chi Begins”
Joseph Wang, Joanna Myers

This collaborative presentation will dive into the many aspects of Tai-Chi through its simple yet all-encompassing first move, “Tai-Chi Begins.” Besides the traditional Tai-Chi health and martial arts applications, you will receive a fresh perspective from the Feldenkrais method, tying everything together and making it easier to do. You will experience first-hand this movement inside out, upside down and sideways, resulting in more relaxation, better posture, immense power for self-defense, and improved coordination.

Joseph Wang is a Tai-Chi instructor at the Ann Arbor Community Education and Recreation and the Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center. He focuses on practical applications of Tai-Chi principles in daily life and martial arts.

Joanna Myers, MM, GCFP has been teaching Feldenkrais classes and workshops since 2002. In her private practice she combines hand-on Functional Integration® (gentle movement and touch) with an intuitive approach that includes energy healing, Core Transformation, and use of the Great Lakes Sacred Essences.

“It’s All About Energy”
Sang Kim

In this class, students will learn how everything we are doing is really to create a flow of energy and bring an energetic balance to the body. They will learn how to concretely learn to recognize the affect we have on energy and the many ways it can be influenced.

Sang Kam is a Qi-Gong healer and teacher of martial arts called Tai-Chi and Ba-Gua. He has 20 years of experience and has been teaching spirituality, energy meditation, energy healing and martial arts.

“The Dangers of Vaccinations”
Mark Rojek

This presentation will last approximately 45 minutes.

Mark Rojek is a Certified Acupuncturist and Enzyme Therapist. He is a published author and has written articles on natural health. He is also an advisor to several doctors and consults with clients in Europe, Australia and across the U.S. He has worked with patients in the University of Michigan hospitals and the Integrative Medical Facility at U of M. Rojek specializes in allergies, pediatric health, immune disorders, gynecological disorders, neurological disorders, sports injury and pain.

Frances Sterling, D.C.

Presentation on EMF protection devices for the entire family and for protection against the wireless revolution: jewelry, plug-in home devices, and WiFi and laptop protectors.

Frances Sterling, D.C. has been presenting the EarthCalm products to health care professionals, and teaching safe habits for living in a toxic environment for over 10 years across the country. She has recently returned to Michigan. She was the past Executive Director of BioSET Allergy Elimination Seminars in California, and Director of Pathways to Wellness in Livonia after relocating from New York where she maintained one of the largest Network Chiropractic offices at the time.

“Creative Horizons/A Healthy Bra”
Pam Tracy

This presentation will educate women and men how to decrease their toxic internal environment, teaching them how to improve lymph and circulatory systems through whole food nutrition, quality water intake, therapeutic sleep and exercise. In addition, it will enlighten women that 85% of them are wearing bras that are impeding their overall health. Information also provided on custom-fit, healthy bras.

Pam Tracy has been a clinical social worker/ mental health therapist for 35 years. She has worked in community agencies and educated individuals in holistic health resources; community services; opportunities for personal growth; choice and personal power. She also works as a Healthy Life Coach, Lymphatic System Educator and professional custom-fit bra consultant and supports green initiatives.

“Apples to Tomatoes: Super Foods and Super Friends! A Nutrition Guide for Parents”
Sara Brindall

Education on the importance of 7-13 servings of fruits and vegetables in the diet each day for health. Presentation will also share JuicePlus, a way to fill in dietary gaps.

Sara is a “mom on a mission.” She has been passionate about sharing with other parents what she has learned about nutrition over the past 4 years. Sara believes that becoming healthy is a series of steps and is eager to provide tips to begin your own health journey.

“After Death Home Care and Green Burial Advocacy”
Merilynne Rush

Most people don’t know their full options for caring for their own dead. The family has the right to care for the departed. The family has the most to gain from caring for their own departed in this last act of healing. The family already has all the tools it needs to perform natural home care, given that it is all based on common sense. The presentation will present and compare all the conventional and traditional options.

Merilynne Rush has a BA in Humanities and Women’s Studies from Michigan State University and a BS in Nursing from University of Michigan. She has done volunteer health care work in Central America and speaks fluent Spanish. She and her husband have raised two children and have one grandchild.

“Sing Song Yoga™”
Deb Weiss-Gelmi

Sing Song Yoga™ is a ½ hour yoga class for children ages 3 and up. Parents are welcome. Parents of 3- and 4-year olds are strong encouraged to do the class with their children. (24 mats will be available.)

Deb Weiss-Gelmi, developer and teacher of Sing Song Yoga™, is a school teacher, a yoga teacher and a mom. Therefore, she knows what kids love – music and movement! In school, she teaches children to read with songs and motions, so creating Sing Song Yoga™ was a natural progression into teaching children the delight of yoga. Deb fell in love with yoga in 2001 and has continued to study with dedicated teachers since.
